Hi, and thanks for stopping by. My name is Cheryl and I joyfully homeschool my two daughters, ages 10 & 12 (and have been doing so going on 7 years now) in Victoria, B.C. I use a combination of Classical and Charlotte Mason methods and a wide variety of curriculum. I consider myself a bit eclectic.
I created this blog for friends and family and for anyone who is curious about homeschooling and would like to know more about the day to days of a home schooling family. Our days are varied and different. I like to blog about the different ways we can approach learning, the experiences my kids have had that have been fun and enriching, and the things I have learned along the way.

hi cheryl. i just found your blog today and i enjoyed it very much. i’m glad you started it.
i’ve got a question for you. how did you start your kids on nature journals. i have two boys (6 &4) and would love for them to start nature journals. but i can’t imagine them sitting in front of anything, trying to sketch it. the extent of what they’ve done is collect acorns and tape leaves on a paper.
any suggestions?

Hey Cheryl, Karina here. What a cool site. I’ve thought off and on about doing a blog (would you believe it, I actually do have one set up but not running it…) but with life happening around me hadn’t quite gotten it together. God is good! You’re a gift. Now all I have to do is what you and learn ;o) tee hee. Love the line you’ve got going with the nature studies. And that quote! It’s a keeper. We’ll be hitting Royal Roads next Wed. afternoon, too. Can’t wait.

Hi Cheryl,
I just saw your article on Heart of the Matter regarding “why do I still do this”. Just this morning I had been in prayer about schooling the kids. I really feel I don’t desire to school my children anymore. It is not as though I feel overwhelmed but just bored! All the while – I KNOW my God has called me to this place. I sat at my computer for my morning routine and there it was…your article. Thanks for sharing that. God is so faithful! The article brought me here to your site and I’m so glad it did.
